Erica was born and raised in the suburbs of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She began creating art at a very young age and enjoyed drawing birds and flowers. During high school, Erica’s talent was acknowledged and she was awarded scholarships to take classes at Moore College of Art in Philadelphia. Following high school, she obtained her Bachelor of Fine Arts and moved to Williamsburg, Brooklyn. City life was exciting yet frantic, and after a few hectic years Erica was ready for a change. She moved to rural Humboldt County, where she knew she would have the lack of distractions that would enable her to focus on her artwork.
Erica graduated from two masters’ programs with Academy of Art San Francisco which has enabled her to further grow as an artist. She obtained an MFA in Fine Art and an MA in Illustration. She enjoys painting still life arrangements as they enable her to create artwork from life. Erica paints portraits and pet portraits. She enjoys drawing and painting plein aire. She is the former President of the Redwood Art Association but remains the Newsletter in Chief for the organization. Recently, Erica taught landscape painting classes through Cal Poly Humboldt’s College of Extended Education & Global Engagement.
Erica is currently living in Charleston, South Carolina. She is an exhibiting artist at Charleston Artist Guild and a member of Plein Air Painters Carolina, California Art Club, Laguna Plein Air Painters Association, Redwood Art Association, and the Humboldt Arts Council.
